Develops a dynamic model of heating system of buildings with different types of outer-wall. Obtains the system characteristics and relationships among the parameters based on open loop tests of the model. Simulates the dynamic responses of the heating system by applying different control strategies. The results show that lack of proper compensation for outdoor air temperature fluctuation and additional heat gains results in great fluctuation of indoor air temperature and fuel waste; the control strategy by using fuel and indoor air temperature controllers could both improve thermal comfort of end-users and decrease fuel consumption by nearly 16%.
